“Namjoon-hyung, do you really have to go?”

“        -ah… we’ve talked about this.”

A quiet sigh. “I know, hyung. I just— I just don’t feel good about this.”

“       -ah…”

“Do you really have to go?”

“I do. You know I do.”

“Hyung… please.”

Don’t go.

A gentle breeze pulls Namjoon out of the dreamscape into consciousness. He slowly opens his eyes, taking a deep breath as he stares up at the familiar blue that hangs above him.

It’s the same dream he has every night, starting with him running, though he can’t tell where he is running, or if he is running from someone. It then flashes to him standing in front of a bed, hands moving as if he’s packing, and mouth speaking the words he now knows by heart. The person he speaks to is devastated every time, and his heart aches each time.

It causes him to turn so he can face the person, maybe comfort them, but every time he starts to turn, the dream ends and he wakes.

Now, he sits up slowly, the world slowly shifting from blue to a sea of white. He reaches out to caress one of the white petals closest to him.

At a glance, the plants look the same — the same white blooms in the same brown earth. But Namjoon knows each and every plant that grows in this garden. It’s all he’s ever known.

He takes a deep breath and stands, letting his eyes roam the rows of white before turning to walk down the path that leads to the taller plants. Pushing past them reveals a small lake, and a basket holding a towel and a bar of soap. He takes the items and wades into the water, clear enough to reflect the blue sky and his face. He doesn’t look at himself for long though, only glimpsing at his short, white, hair, before focusing on washing his face and body.
