Yoongi waits on the train platform, nervously shifting from foot to foot as he checks his every few minutes.

“Hyung,” Namjoon laughs from where he sits on the bench next to him, “Checking your phone every minute isn’t going to make the train come any faster.”

Yoongi turns to level Namjoon with an unimpressed stare and Namjoon holds his hands up.

“I’m just saying…”

Yoongi ignores him and turns back to face the tracks. It’s been a month since Taehyung left for the city, and it would still be a few months before Yoongi could join him. But Yoongi’s birthday was coming up, so Taehyung took time off work to travel down to spend his birthday with him.

He sighs and finally moves to sit down next to Namjoon, who’d come with him to welcome his brother back.

Namjoon pats his thigh comfortingly. “Don’t worry, hyung, he’ll get here safely.”

Yoongi nods, eyes still focused on the platform as he waits. The next thirteen minutes are the longest thirteen minutes he’s ever sat through, cycling between looking at the platform, to the train updates on the screen above the platform, to his phone.

Finally, the speaker above them crackles with the familiar recorded announcers voice. “The outbound train is now approaching.”

Yoongi stands, holding his breath when the train slowly rolls up to the platform and the train doors slide open. His eyes dart over the sea of people now flooding the platform, looking for a familiar face.

“There,” Namjoon says from his side, and Yoongi’s eyes follow where he points, already moving in the direction before he fully sees Taehyung.

His Taehyung, who breaks out into a smile and opens his arms wide for Yoongi to barrel into him. “Hi, hyung,” he murmurs as he squeezes Yoongi in his arms, pressing a kiss to his hair.

Taehyung,” Yoongi sighs into his chest. He slowly leans back, meeting Taehyung’s eyes, love and happiness shining through them. His eyes dart down to Taehyung’s lips, which quirk up in the corner before Yoongi moves forward to press their lips together.

It’s sweet, kissing Taehyung for the first time in so long. It feels just as comforting as the embrace he’s wrapped in. Yoongi pours everything that he wants to say into the kiss. Hello. I missed you. I’m so glad you’re here.

He parts from Taehyung’s lips reluctantly, and steps back to let Namjoon have a chance to greet his brother. Taehyung grabs his hand, giving him a gentle smile. Neither of them let go, even when they move off the train platform to the car, pressed close together as they head home.
