Taehyung yawns as he wanders through the corridors, searching through open doorways he walks past. He pouts slightly when he gets to the doors leading outside, exhaling before he pushes them open.

The night air hits his skin, goosebumps erupting up his bare arms. His eyes roam the yard, pausing on one tree where a viper is coiled around one of the lower branches.

Taehyung sighs, walking up to the tree and pausing in front of the viper, which appears like it’s asleep. “Hyung, you know you’re not supposed to be out here this late…”

The viper stays motionless for several moments before it finally opens its eyes, turning to stare at Taehyung. Taehyung smiles softly as the viper’s head hangs from the tree, gently bumping it’s snout to Taehyung’s nose. “Hi, hyung, yes, we need to go inside, tomorrow’s going to be a long day.”

The viper extends its snout, gently pressing a kiss to Taehyung’s lips. Taehyung’s smile widens and he lifts his arm, stretching it towards the viper. He watches as it curls around his arm, and turns back to the building when it settles.

“I’ll bring you back outside tomorrow after we’re done with training,” Taehyung murmurs as he steps back through the doors. He makes his way back through the corridors, until he reaches his room. The viper hisses in his ear, and Taehyung crouches, letting it move from his arm to the ground.

As soon as the viper hits the ground, it shifts, and Hoseok stands in front of him in its place, a small frown on his face. Taehyung cooes, reaching up to cup the snake hybrid’s face and leans in to peck his lips. “Sorry, hyung, you know the rules.” he says as he leans back.

“I’ve never cared for your kind’s rules, you know that,” Hoseok rasps with a glare.

Taehyung sighs, walking past Hoseok to their bed. “And you know that I can only do so much until we set everything into motion.”

The room is silent, and Taehyung quickly changes and slides into the sheets. After a few more moments, Hoseok slides in behind him, throwing an arm over his waist. “I know you’re doing your best. Thank you.”
