Jeongguk follows Jimin down the hall, fists clenched at his side as he glares at Jimin’s back. The muscles of Jimin’s back are tight, the other wound up with barely concealed anger as they make their way to Namjoon’s office. It’s been a few hours since they returned from the mission, both of them silently going their separate ways until Namjoon called for them.

Normally they’d be inseparable, especially after returning from tough missions, but over the past few weeks, both of his boyfriends slowly chipped at Jeongguk’s patience, and he threw all caution to the wind. It almost cost them, something he refused to admit was only his fault. Because it wasn’t. All three of them made reckless decisions through the entirety of the mission.

He waits a few steps away, turning his gaze to the floor when Jimin knocks on the door in front of them.

“Come in,” Namjoon’s low voice echoes through the door, and Jimin opens it. Jeongguk silently steps in after him, shutting the door behind him. He stands next to the door, contemplating if he wants to stay there for whatever this is, just to avoid sitting with his boyfriends.

“Jeongguk,” Namjoon calls, gesturing to the chair next to Jimin. “Come here.”

Jeongguk can’t help but to roll his eyes as he strides over to the chair in front of Namjoon and slumps into it. Silence hangs over them, Jeongguk resolutely keeping his eyes trained on the ground in front of him, even though he can feel Namjoon’s heavy gaze.

“Really?” Namjoon speaks again. “You’re both going to be like this? Jeongguk, I understand… but Jimin, you too?”

Jeongguk’s glare at the carpet deepens and he hears Jimin scoff from next to him.

“You’re the one that called us here,” Jimin mumbles petulantly.

“Because we have to debrief, which includes going over the stupid shit you both pulled.”

Jeongguk slowly lifts his head to look at Namjoon, a bitter laugh dropping from his lips. “The stupid shit we— what about you, hyung? You’re not entirely innocent either, and you’re supposed to be our leader.”

Namjoon clenches his jaw, before tipping his chin up to look down at Jeongguk. “I did what was best for us—”

“You did what you thought was best for us, because you think we’re incapable,” Jimin interjects, leaning forward in his seat. “If you had any sense of respect for us, not just as your boyfriends, but as your peers, you would have told us everything, instead of us having to find out the hard way in the middle of a mission.”

Jeongguk finds himself nodding, agreeing with Jimin for the first time since they’ve returned.

Namjoon’s eyes flash. “Neither of you understand, and you wonder why you haven’t been promoted.”

Jeongguk’s stomach drops at Namjoon’s words. “Fuck you, hyung,” he growls, pushing himself to stand.

“Sit back down, Jeongguk,” Namjoon replies, but Jimin stands up as well, face red with anger.
