Hoseok carefully sits on the edge of the bed, sad eyes looking over the figure that lies in front of him. Moonlight drifts through the open window, shining on Jimin’s peaceful face.
“I’m sorry,” Hoseok whispers after a few moments. “But I have to go. I can’t even begin to explain why, but you’ll know when the time is right.”
A tear slips down his cheek, and his lips tremble as he tries to suppress his sobs. He finally lets out a shaky exhale, and closes his eyes, calling his elven magic forward. He leans down carefully, gently pressing his lips to Jimin’s and breathes his magic out into the other.
Jimin glows under him as he whispers a protective spell, still hovering over the other’s lips. When the glow fades, he finally pulls back, the other still thankfully asleep, and looks over him one last time.
“I love you,” Hoseok whispers as he slowly stands. “We’ll see each other soon.”
When Jimin wakes up the next morning, it’s to a phantom feeling on his lips and a heaviness in his heart. He slowly rises from the bed, looking around him to find nothing out of place. He sighs and rubs his eyes, before walking out of his room to the main room where he finds Yoongi and Seokjin sitting silently at their table.
The heaviness on his heart grows.
“Hyungs?” he calls hesitantly.
Yoongi slowly turns to look at him, the sadness in his eyes almost overwhelming.
“They’re gone,” Yoongi whispers, a tear slipping down his cheek. Jimin’s heart drops.
“What do you mean, they’re gone? They were just—” he freezes mid-gesture.
It’s then he really notices how empty everything is. The little things that had begun to fill the space as the elves stayed with them, were all gone. Hoseok, Namjoon, Taehyung, and Jeongguk, had left and taken everything with them.
